Job Description
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher for a full-time position. This role is based in an adaptive classroom supporting students in grades 9-12 with a focus on life skills development. The classroom has multiple paraprofessionals for assistance, and you will be working alongside another teacher with the same caseload. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in grades 9-12.
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities, focusing on life skills and adaptive behaviors.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other teachers to ensure an effective and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary.
- Work with parents, administrators, and other staff to address student needs and concerns.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and communication with families.
Requirements
- Valid Special Education certification with an emphasis in Adaptive Education (must have Adaptive Certification).
- Experience working with high school-aged students (grades 9-12).
- Ability to develop and implement specialized instructional plans for students with diverse needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for working with students with disabilities and promoting their academic and life skills growth.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with both staff and paraprofessionals.
